Indonesia

On a weekly basis we visit the streets of Jakarta, Indonesia, visiting and talking with refugees to see how we might help.  We frequently remind our new friends that resources are limited and we won't be able to solve every problem.  But... a little can go a long way.

If you live in Jakarta please contact us to get information on the nearest drop-off points for donations.

If you do not live in Jakarta, but would still like to help, follow the steps below. Note that mailing items to Jakarta simply isn't practical.  And, we want to support local Indonesian businesses!

  1. Look at the list of items found on our "list of needs" page. Prices should be listed with most items.  Feel free to e-mail us to inquire about items without prices.
  2. Think about your budget.  Put together a list of items you would like to "buy" and put it in an e-mail.  Keep in mind that you can pay a portion of an item.  For example, if you would like to help purchase a rice cooker, but can only contribute $5, you can note this in your e-mail to us.
  3. Send us an e-mail with your "order". You will receive confirmation and payment options.
  4. We'll go shopping! Using all local vendors, we will purchase those items you ordered.
  5. If requested, we can follow-up with pictures of refugees receiving the items we purchased on your behalf.
Thank you!  We appreciate you considering helping our efforts.
